Mural Creates Atmosphere in a Small Kitchen
I have painted a mural in a classic Copenhagen kitchen. It has been a fantastic experience to transform a small, white kitchen with art, colours, and atmosphere. In many classic Copenhagen apartments, kitchens are often small but full of soul. This home had a simple, white kitchen, and the desire was to add colour, life, and an artistic expression, while maintaining the kitchen's bright and open atmosphere.
Colour Choices and Atmosphere – A Harmonious Blue-Green Palette
To create cohesion between the mural and the kitchen's other elements, we decided to paint the cabinet doors turquoise blue, toning towards green. This deep, warm, beautiful blue colour served as a base, giving character and depth to the room, while also creating a calm atmosphere.
The mural was intended to be light and airy, so I chose a palette of blue and green tones. Blue symbolises calm and elegance, while green brings naturalness and freshness into the room. Together, they create an organic balance that works perfectly in a kitchen environment.
The Inspiration Behind the Mural
I love painting abstract, nature-inspired motifs where art blends with its surroundings. This mural is no exception – it is created with inspiration from nature, plants, and soft organic forms.
The painting extends across selected kitchen elements and functions as a natural extension of the room.
