As more people convert to large conversation kitchens, it is becoming more and more popular to have a painting for the kitchen. It also looks super nice and can make the kitchen cozier. Despite slight temperature fluctuations and steam from cooking, you can easily have a painting in the kitchen.
Kitchen painting
Is there a difference between which painting you buy for the kitchen and the other rooms in the house? Both yes and no. There is a slight difference in what a painting should be able to do, depending on how the room is used.
A large painting in the kitchen by the dining door can look super nice and make the dining area cozier. There are many equally clean surfaces in a kitchen, and a painting will be able to soften the lines a little and create more dynamism for the simple colored surfaces. Especially an all-white - or just one-coloured kitchen - can change a lot of character with a painting.
A painting in the kitchen can also help a little with the sound in the room. Since you rarely have either curtains or carpets in a kitchen, the sound can become very loud. If you want to keep the simple expression and clean lines in the kitchen, it can be a good idea to stick to a single large painting.
Modern paintings for the kitchen
It is very different how we arrange ourselves. Our kitchens therefore also look very different. I know here some inspiration for how to decorate your kitchen with art. If the kitchen joins the living room with a dining area in between, it may be an idea to decorate this area in the kitchen with art to create more atmosphere and make the transition between kitchen and living room smoother. In this kitchen, the kitchen itself is kept in wood, stone and white walls, but the dining chairs are golden with a painting that matches with golden areas.
Below is a kitchen with a darker colored wall, where a very large painting is hung that is lighter than the wall. When the painting is lighter than the wall, the wall comes to act as a frame for the painting, and makes the expression very intense.
Wall painting in kitchen
In a kitchen, it is also obvious to paint directly on the wall. A mural in a kitchen goes well with the clean lines of a kitchen. The photo below is from the kitchen in restaurant Geranium, which has had murals painted throughout the restaurant. It wanted to keep the light Nordic look with clean lines, and therefore chose to have murals painted instead of paintings. A mural in the kitchen can be painted on walls or pillars/pillars, over corners and over the ceiling. Only the imagination sets the limits.

Small paintings in the kitchen
If you have a small kitchen, or just a small wall space, a small painting in the kitchen can also be super beautiful. If the painting is to be hung in the kitchen itself, close to the sink or stove, I would recommend that the painting be given an extra layer of protective varnish so that it is well protected against moisture. If you say that the painting is to hang in a kitchen or baking room, I am happy to give it extra varnish at no extra charge. The varnish also protects against UV radiation, so if you have direct sunlight in the kitchen, the colors of the painting will be well protected.
