You can certainly have a painting in the bathroom. However, if there's a lot of humidity in the bathroom, it might be a good idea to add extra protection. My paintings always receive two layers of varnish at the end, which protects the painting. If there's a lot of humidity in the bathroom, it might be a good idea to varnish the wood on the back as well.

You cannot use posters in frames, as the humidity in the bathroom will get under the glass and damage the paper.
