"Toward the horizon" is one of my large abstract paintings with a light and airy summer atmosphere. On a light beige background a botanical universe unfolds — moss green plants, flowers and bees in an organic and vibrant pattern. My small female figure is included — she holds a branch with flowers and looks out towards the horizon. A quiet and poetic gesture in the midst of nature's multitude.
The female figure recurs in many of my paintings. She is not a specific person but a voice — someone who observes and is part of the universal pattern between man and nature. It is the core of my artistic universe.
I paint with acrylic paint from Golden on hand-built canvases from Vindelev Blindrammefabrik and always finish with two layers of varnish that protects against sunlight and dust. This painting is stretched on an extra deep 4 cm blind frame — the motif continues out to the sides, which gives a beautiful effect when you view the painting from the side.
The size of 110x180 cm makes it a natural centerpiece in the living room — especially beautiful above a wide sofa or along a long sideboard. The bright and botanical expression fits well with Scandinavian and Nordic decor and bright rooms with natural materials.
The painting is available in three versions: without frame, with oak frame or with black frame.
