Painting "Free as a bird" 110x180 cm.

"Free as a bird" is a fairytale and warm painting in deep earthy tones — a universe where the boundary between reality and dream dissolves. A bird flies freely through the picture, and my small female figure sits on the bird's back as if she is carried by nature and imagination at the same time.

Butterflies dance through the painting. Earth elements and botanical leaves anchor the universe in nature, while the abstract style gives it all a floating and fairytale lightness. It is a painting about freedom — about daring to let go of control and let yourself be guided by something bigger than yourself.

The female figure recurs in many of my paintings. She is not a specific person but a voice — someone who observes and is part of the universal pattern between man and nature. It is the core of my artistic universe.

I paint with acrylic paint from Golden on hand-built canvases from Vindelev Blindrammefabrik and always finish with two layers of varnish that protects against sunlight and dust. The painting is stretched on an extra deep 4 cm blind frame — the motif continues on the sides, which gives a beautiful effect when you view the painting from the side.

The warm earthy tones make the painting perfect in a decor with natural materials such as wood, leather and stone — and it works beautifully in both classic and modern Scandinavian homes. The size 110x180 cm makes it a natural and striking main piece above the sofa or along a long wall.

The painting is available in three variants: without frame, with oak frame or with black frame.
