Painting "At dusk" 100x150 cm.

"At dusk" is a dark and evocative painting – a painting about the quiet and magical moment of twilight, when the day recedes and something else takes over. The dark brown background gives the painting a deep and calm weight, and abstractions in brown, beige, and white create movement and life in the darkness.

From the branches, small cellular forms in yellow and orange emerge – like will-o'-the-wisps or the last rays of sunlight clinging on before night falls. And in the branches, my female figures intertwine – they are part of the tree, part of the twilight, part of nature's slow transition from day to night.

The female figures recur in many of my paintings. They are not concrete people but voices – observers who are part of the universal pattern between humans and nature. In this painting, they have almost become nature itself.

I paint with Golden acrylic paint on handmade canvases from Vindelev Blindrammefabrik and always finish with two layers of varnish that protect against sunlight and dust. The painting is stretched on a 2 cm deep stretcher frame and painted on the sides – it does not require framing but can be framed if desired.

The dark and atmospheric color palette makes the painting perfect for interiors with depth and character – Nordic and Scandinavian homes with dark wood, leather, and natural stone. It serves as a powerful and atmospheric centerpiece in the living room, in the entrance hall, or in any room that can accommodate a dark and evocative painting.
