I always sell my paintings unframed. This means that you can choose whether the painting should have a frame, and if you choose framing, you can choose which one. A painting without a frame gives full focus to the painting and it gives a very light and airy expression. My paintings are always beautifully painted on the sides, and to the sides the abstractions continue beyond the edge. This gives you an extra experience of the painting when viewed from the side. My very large paintings from 110x180 cm and up are painted on an extra wide blind frame, so that this experience becomes greater. Very few buyers choose to frame my paintings, as the light unframed look goes well with a bright Nordic interior.
What frame for a painting?
Most paintings look best in what are called floating frames. It is a frame where the painting "floats" in the frame with half a centimeter of air between the picture and the frame. The floating frame gives depth and perspective to the image. For my paintings, I would always recommend a narrow frame that is not too dominant. Choose a frame with a natural look, where you can see the years in the wood. A classic oak frame is super beautiful and is also very modern these days. It emphasizes nature in the art and is not overly dominant.
A frame is the bridge between the art and the interior design, so if, for example, you don't have any oak in the interior design, it might be an idea to choose, for example, a white or a black frame. If, for example, you have dark wood in your interior, several of my paintings can also go beautifully with it.
I do not frame, but I am happy to advise on the choice of frame, and there is a skilled glazier in the street who can handle the framing for you.
